Movie - Young Bill Hickok
|
Year: 1940 Rated: NR Parental Rating: Acceptable for children Country Of Origin: U.S. Running Time: 59 Format: Black & White Genre(s): Biography; Western Production: Republic Released By: Western history a la Roy Rogers. He plays the famed gunslinger in a wholly fictionalized story, complete with cowboy songs, that bears absolutely no resemblance to the actual Bill Hickok. Just after the Civil War, Taliaferro and Blue lead a guerrilla band that is plotting with foreign agent Miljan to build a mighty and evil empire in the American Southwest. Rogers defeats them in the usual style with Payne (as another maltreated historical figure, "Calamity Jane") giving some assistance. A routine, efficiently told Western with the usual chases, fighting, and musical interludes. leave a comment |
